Hell Face (part 1 of 4) from Dave Norris on Vimeo. This is pretty groovy - a collection of commercials from Where The Action Is airing on Saturday afternoons in 1967 on ABC after American Bandstand at noon.

FUN FOR YOU! Three days of nostalgic fun! Over 180 vendor tables, celebrities signing autographs, movie room runs all 24 hours, panels and seminars, live old time radio recreations on stage, drive-in movie theater outside the hotel on Friday night and much more! TUESDAY STUFF Back when I was a skinny kid bouncing around LA circa 1980 I used to go to a smoking hot spot called Odyssey 1 near the north east corner of Beverly and La Cieniga. It was there, five years later, that I stared down one of the most notorious drug dealers and mass murderers in history but you wouldn't be interested in that. Someone dug up news footage of the paid-for protest that happened after the city pulled the club's dance license and it's pretty lame, by that point the club had gone from kids on Quaaludes to kids on crack and powder cocaine - not the best clientele if you're a homeowner in the neighborhood awaking to people fornicating or urinating (or worse) on your lawn. Then there was the resultant fire that gutted the building shortly after my aforementioned confrontation.
Sitcom writer/ director / producer Ken Levine is feuding with Roseanne Barr (or whatever she's ended up being called) and it's a delicious cat fight! Just for laughs - no one was/is funnier than Groucho especially in You Bet Your Life outtakes!

TV NEWS My favorite sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm returns for an eighth HBO season on July 10th. The show may not be quite as good as it was a couple of years ago but I still find it irrefutable. Here's a sneak peek:
A while back I told you about a stupendous app for your Android, TV Shows Stream, that delivers TV shows right to your smart phone, hundreds of series, most in their entirety, some never released on DVD. Well the same folks have a new app called Movies Stream that offers a wide range of films from the beginning of the silent era all the way up to 2009. Search by genre and decades and you'll find an amazing array of the best movies of all time. I watched All About Eve, Sunset Blvd. and Alien yesterday while I worked. I also got caught up on documentaries I've been meaning to watch, The Brother Warner, Confessions of a Superhero and a few others. Betty Boop cartoons, Laurel & Hardy, Three Stooges - all in the palm of your hand. I paid an introductory price of $3.00 and it's well worth the $5.00 eventual rate. 5 movies from Redbox will cost you that and my Evo allows me to connect to any flat screen TV for added value. Because I have an account with Mega Upload (and, by virtue, Mega Video) I can watch uninterrupted with no time limit (otherwise you'll need to take a half hour break every 72 minutes on Mega Video links). Other providers are available like Karambavid, Frogmovz, and others. I rarely have hiccups except in the heaviest periods of the day (9:00am) but I find Movie Stream and TV Shows Stream to be a much better source for TV and movies than expensive cable.
