The Masterantonios Remember Bobby Darin“My goal is to be remembered as a human being and as a great performer.” - Bobby Darin The Masterantonio sisters share a story about Bobby Darin and Roger Miller in Las Vegas. They were just young ladies when they were first ushered in to meet the legendary Bobby Darin. “We were very fortunate,” The Masterantonio sisters said. “Because times we spent with our beloved Bobby Darin were always exciting and memorable. This is just one special time. Bobby was appearing at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas at the time and we were there to see him. Bobby asked us if we would like to go see a recording session with him.” Talk about exciting - Darin was one of the most dynamic entertainers to ever play the strip, a performer who died way too young due to a heart defect. The chance to observe him recording in person was very unusual and there is actual Super8 footage in this video of Darin at the microphone. The singer had a definite nice guy reputation but he could be demanding when it came to performing. He wanted everything to be as perfect as possible so he only worked with the brightest and the best. “It isn't true that you live only once,” he said. “You only die once. You live lots of times, if you know how. Darin married his second wife Andrea Joy Yeager and had a hit variety show on NBC the year he died.
