The Puppet Hotel Chuck McCann hosted his first local Kidult TV series, "The Puppet Hotel" on WNTA TV Channel 13 in the Newark, N.J./ NYC viewing area beginning on Saturday morning, November 28, 1959. McCann served as the desk clerk (and as the program's only live on camera character) who would attempt to complete his assigned tasks. More often than not, he had trouble coping with the mischief created by the hotel's guests and staff. This format would serve as the basis for "Let's Have Fun" and the Chuck McCann Shows to come a decade later. Chuck and "The Paul Ashley Puppets"would continue to maintain the decorum of "The Puppet Hotel" until the station execs at WNTA shuttered the Inn for good on Saturday, January 16, 1960.
