The extra emphasis on the speed seems to get everyone carried away such that they fail to adequately develop the story. In a few short scenes the essential parts of the story are rushed through. And all the rushing is leading to the to some high octane action sequence. Judging from the popularity of the movie series and the box-office takings it looks like that is what the fans want.

So is this the apparent death of an art? Or is it the rise of another form of art? We have to be clear that there are cinematic projects that where real works of art regardless of the genre of the movie. This is the reason we have to critical of where we are going as a society.
