Dean Martin Christmas Show 1968Dapper Dean Martin gives over one of his weekly musical-variety hours on NBC to present a festive holiday special. The opening production number is sung by Jack Halloran's Choir, featuring Dean Martin, Dean's girl group The Golddiggers along with the series' dancers dressed as Santa Claus singing "Look At That Face" and "Be A Santa." You've never seen so much red fabric and fake snow! The show features: Dean Martin singing "A Marshmallow World" followed by The Golddiggers performing "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town." Dean Martin & The Golddiggers appear in a medley - "Daddy" / "True Love" / "We Wish You The Merriest." Dennis Weaver in "The Marvelous Toy." The entire cast performs a medley of Christmas Carols including "Deck The Halls" / "Joy To The World" / "Silent Night." (Although "Joy To The World" technically wasn't a Christmas tune.) Dean Martin sings "Christmas Is For Kids" accompanied by footage of hot Christmas toys in 1968; followed by the entire cast singing "We Wish You A Merry Christmas." Also appearing in vignettes: Bob Newhart and Dom DeLuise, plus cameos by dozens of celebrities including Frank Sinatra Jr., Bob Hope, and Johnny Carson who announce an effort to send gifts to needy children through hospitals and various charities.
