FLACK ATTACK!
Family Guy on DVdFrom the press releases: Stewie will "Damn you all!" if fans don't catch the latest collection of uproariously irreverent Family Guy adventures, as Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment presents the Family Guy‰ Volume Six DVD collection on October 21. A pop culture phenomenon the collection features the show's 100th episode and a total of 12 edgy episodes from Seasons Five and Six. Catch the Griffin clan‚s ridiculously hilarious antics such as Stewie‚s not-so-successful attempt to kill Lois, Brian's discovery that he is a father and patriarch Peter's frequent visits to the Drunken Clam.

Here are some video clips from the production of the Family Guy 100th episode:

USA Network will be airing 16 all new episodes for season eight of LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT produced by Wolf Films and Universal Cable Productions. LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT was created and executive produced by Emmy Award winning producer Dick Wolf and developed by Rene Balcer. CRIMINAL INTENT veers from the traditional “Law & Order” format by taking viewers into the minds of its criminal while following the psychological approaches the Major Case Squad uses to solve the crimes.
Academy Award and Emmy nominee Jeff Goldblum (“Raines,” “Jurassic Park”) has joined the cast for the season eight and will be playing Zach Nichols, a detective who was born and bred in New York City, particularly the Upper West Side.

THIS 'N' THAT
Sean Dougherty reminds us that this weekend's Friends of Old Time Radio Convention starts today where Chuck McCann will be appearing along with Tommy Cook (Red Ryder), Gloria McMillan (Our Miss Brooks), Shirley Mitchell (The Great Gildersleeve), Will Hutchins (Blondie, Sugarfoot) and a bunch of other TV and radio folks. How cool is that? Check it out this weekend (October 23-26) at the Holiday Inn-North, Newark, NJ (1-973-589-1000). Here's the website: www.fotr.net.

Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson is really on fire this election season. Jimmy Fallon will have his work cut out for him when he replaces Conan on Late Night in '09.

Boy am I glad I'm not in LA today - a massive fire is consuming the Sepulveda Hills, closing the 405 freeway which is a bumper to bumper crawl during morning commutes on typical days.

Ratings are down for NBC's Deal or No Deal, only a 4.5 rating for last nights telecast. Maybe people are watching the syndicated half hour version and realize it's a much better show in a 30 minute package. Also down this week: Life on Mars, America's Toughest Jobs and My Own Worst Enemy. Ha ha, I haven't seen any of those shows.

Shari Lewis Christmas on DVDEvery once in a while a DVD comes along that surprises me - something that I wasn't expecting to be all that great turns out to be phenomenal. This is one of those cases. My first TV memory is of Shari Lewis & Lamb Chop but I hadn't seen anything they'd done since I was a wee tyke. I was impressed by the fact she was still entertaining kids on television in the 1990s but I hadn't given Shari and her sassy puppet pals much thought.

This new DVD, A Shari Lewis Christmas, collects all three of the Shari Lewis Show's Christmas episodes (1960-1963) plus a holiday themed local telecast, Hi Mom and it's a tasty yuletide treat. Read the entire review here...

DEAN'S QUEENS
television blog - the Golddiggers Today
Maria Lauren writes: "Thank you for your kind words about our present performance of The Former Golddiggers, in 'Showstoppers,' and for putting our videos on your Site. They were fun times!

"Thank you for your words about Lee Hale too. Lee Hale was our musical director and my 'Golddigger sisters' and I, are so grateful to him for mentoring us. In the 70's and 80's, Lee put together wonderful musical medleys, including a TV Theme medley for us. He knew how to feature each girls talent and encouraged us to be leading ladies! Lee also produced some of the Dean Martin TV shows and wrote the book, 'Backstage at the Dean Martin Show.' In his early days in show business, he sang and even did some comedy skits on Dean's TV show. Today, Lee is still actively doing film editing for the Professional Dancer's Society in Beverly Hills. With all his talents, he never did choreography for us, that was left to Eddie Kerrigan and Bob Sidney.

"Thanks again for keeping alive this glamorous time in TV and Hollywood!"

GOOD NEW & BAD
Dexter has been picked up for 2 more seasons of 12 episodes each and ABC has picked up Private Practice for a full season.

David Duchovny is suing the U.K.'s Daily Mail because they claimed he was romantically involved with a tennis instructor. You think all of this recent publicity will be good for him? He's coming across kinda sleazy to me.

We're getting closer to the day (May 29th) when Conan O'Brien takes over the Tonight show from Jay Leno. It's been 4 years since that stunning announcement was made - The Hollywood Reporter updates us on what's going on behind the scenes and why it's a nightmare for NBC.

What shows do Democrats and Republicans like most? Dems favor The Colbert Report, Deadliest Catch, I Love NY, and Ax Men. Republicans enjoy South Park, Rock of Love, Cash Cab, Dr. Who, Damages, and Battle 360 most. The bipartisan favorite was The Cleaner. With the exception of Rock of Love I like all the Republican picks, haven't caught Deadliest Catch and Ax Men.

After being unexpectedly voted out, Toni Braxton stormed off the Dancing With The Stars set as soon as filming ended yesterday, leaving waiting reporters wondering what happened and free to speculate. Nobody's seen you since the '80s, don't rush off now, honey!

Guess who didn't get invited to George Takei's wedding? William Shatner, who is hopping mad and basically calling Takei a festering psycho because of it! See for yourself...

Shatner can't imagine why Takei would be angry with him. I'd start with what I was told when I worked on the campaigns for the Star Trek films - that Shatner had it written into his contracts that the supporting players could not be paid above a certain amount (and it was pretty low, as I recall) and he vetoed the idea of their images ever appearing on the Star Trek V poster. Takei, Nichelle Nichols and the rest might have done a lot better financially if they'd had more leeway.
