Green Acres - The Complete Third Season

So far three seasons of Green Acres are available on DVD and each set is a gem, packed with laughter.

One of TV's funniest and most absurd comedies, Green Acres is one of the rare sitcoms that remained consistently hilarious throughout the years, only faltering in quality during the final, 6th season.

In fact, ratings remained high for the series to the end, CBS only cancelled Green Acres because they wanted to shed their rural image and canned, as one TV pundit noted, "Everything with a tree in it."

This show looks great on DVD, the first season was in black and white, the following years in color. Season three is the series at its peak with episodes like Arnold the Pig's trip to Hollywood, Alf and Ralph breaking up, and my all time favorites where Oliver takes over the Hooterville phone company.

Plot Outline: A New York attorney and his wife try to live as genteel farmers in the bizarre community of Hooterville.

Plot Synopsis: Manhattan lawyer Douglas drags his protesting socialite wife and her finery to the rural backwash of a rundown farm outside Hooterville. They attempt to get the farm fixed up. Farmer Fred Ziffel's pig Arnold watches TV and is in many ways smarter than the Hootervillians.
